Fabrizio Antonioli, geologist (fabrizio.antonioli@enea.it)

Born in Milan in 1953, graduated in 1977 in Earth Science. In 1988 researcher at ENEA. In 1990 he qualified as a scientific diver participating in the course ISSD. Deals with relative changes of sea level, socio-economic impacts on Italian shores and tide gauge monitoring activities since 1991 with the aim of exploring future scenarios and possible long-term sea-flooding (2100). About 800 dives, 260 of them diving for scientific research. Underwater photographer has organized two exhibitions. He studied the submerged coastal geomorphology on most high Italian coasts, visited and studied 80 caves in the Mediterranean Sea, Red Sea and the Mexican Cenote. Sampled speleothems until a depth of -49 meters and studied caves down to -70 m. He studied and measured underwater archaeological finds in Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Greece, Turkey, Israel, Tunisia, Spain and France. Organized two conferences of Geology Underwater (Rome, 1991, Palinuro 1994). He collaborated on the publication of 3 books by writing about the vulnerability and adaptation in the Italian coast: Kyoto and its surroundings, climate change as global problem, 2006. Franco Angeli ed., Relative change in sea level and vulnerability of coastal plains and Italian. CMCC Bononia University Press, 2009, and Changes in sea level and vulnerability of the Italian coast, on the Exercise of the Italian Geological Society, 2008. Author of 170 scientific publications, 70 of them at the International Journals. For ENEA was the scientific director of 3 projects with the Abruzzo Region (2003-2005-2009) the impacts of climate variations on the coasts. He has worked in numerous European projects 1998-2008 (including: Interreg Italy Slovenia "The arc of the High Adriatic coastal sites: topographic surveys on land and sea" and National Agreement (ENEA MINAMB program, "The Mediterranean - Protection of the Sea and coasts. "CNR Agenzia 2000, again on coastal issues. Italian project manager of the VECTOR project (vulnerability of the Italian coasts and marine ecosystems to climate change and their role in the carbon cycle Mediterranean) which coordinates the line 3 VARCOST: variations on sea levels, impact on coastal areas. (2006-2010). In 2007 he published a map of the Italian sites at risk of being flooded by the sea in 100 years. 3 volumes Guest Editor of Quaternary International (2006, 2009, 2010) all dedicated to issues related to changes in sea level. In 2009 he published in Nature a study on the submerged cave stalagmites Argentarola.

Sergio Gambi, diver Fire (sergiosub@libero.it)

Gianni Fasano, electronic technician (g.fasano@ibimet.cnr.it)

CTER IV Level of the National Research Council (CNR) Institute of Biometeorology. He was born in Florence in 1960. In 1979 he took a diploma in Industrial Electronics. He was assumed by CNR in 1984. Since then, he has always been involved in designing and realization of sensors and instruments for, terrestrial and marine, environmental monitoring. In 1985 first SCUBA certification of the Federal School FIPSAS of Florence, then he got up to the 3 rd grade of FIPSAS patent.
He, as an instrumentation expert, has participated in numerous projects of environmental monitoring both of the italian National Research Council and the European Community. Since 2001 he became Diver Leader of the diving activities of CNR - IBIMET. Over time he has improved its own training by participating in seminars related to aspects of: "Underwater Medicine" (First-aid accidents of decompression sickness) at the Careggi Hospital (Florence), "Underwater Scientific Research " organized by the International School of Scientific Diving (ISSD),  "Security in the field of work" organized, for the different specializations, by the Department of Security and Prevention, of the CNR. Recently he obtained the necessary certification to dive with use of synthetic mixtures (Nitrox & Trimix) up to a depth of 65 m. Since 2003, he has taught in courses organized by ISSD as an expert of instruments for monitoring environmental physical quantities. By several years he is collaborating with: Protected Marine Area(PMA) - Peninsula of Sinis and Mal di Ventre Island,  PMA - Capo Caccia and Isola Piana, PMA - Capo Carbonara, National Park of La Maddalena,
Department of Earth Sciences (Uni. FI),  Department of Biology (Uni. PI),  Department of Natural Science and the Territory - University of Sassari,  Department of Cultural Heritage CNR regarding the Underwater Landscape. He is associated with the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences - Uni. Sassari with regard to the underwater landscape. In 2006, in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he participated to the Project for the Protection of Marine Biodiversity in the Gulf of Tonkin (Southern China). Since 2010, he is member of the Scientific and Technical Committee of Italian Association of Scientific Divers. Since 2010, he collaborates with the Euro Mediterranean Leghorn Foundation and the Municipality of Leghorn to the courses of environmental education targeted to high school students in the city. It is formalizing his appointment from experts of the " Commission of Study on issues of safety in diving ", organized by Department of Security and Prevention of CNR. He has published more than eighty works on Italian and foreign reviews of electronics and environmental engineering. He has written several chapters on various technical and scientific CNR IBIMET books. He made 14 instruments for measuring and monitoring, including 3 patented by CNR, the most recent realization are: an Underwater Radiometer for study quality and quantity of solar radiation and a deep benthic chamber.
